acupuncture + traditional chinese medicine
acupuncture
Clinical Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Practitioners insert very thin, sterile needles into precise points on the body, while you comfortably rest + relax. Acupuncture is a way to naturally treat a wide range of physical + emotional health conditions such as muscle pain, insomnia, anxiety + inflammation.
electro-acupuncture
Needles are inserted at specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous and gentle electric impulses proven to assist the overall effect of acupuncture especially with pain and paralysis.
cosmetic acupuncture
While other injectables limit muscle movements and lymph circulation, acupuncture can increase circulation, oxygenation, detoxification and prevent lymph build up + reduce puffiness!
Collagen + Elastin [key building blocks of the skin] deplete with age. Tiny acupuncture needles promote a micro-wound healing response that promotes the production of new collagen + elastin. Cosmetic Acupuncture can create firmer, healthier, more resilient, thicker skin, and a more relaxed + softened appearance.
pediatric acupuncture
For children aged 5 - 17.
Because many kids can be afraid of needles, we will discuss + show them what acupuncture is using hair-thin needles during our assessment. If they do not want needles, we can also use gua sha, silicone or fire cupping, tuina massage, acupressure + ear seeds.
gua sha
Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese healing remedy that is often used in conjunction with herbal medicine + acupuncture. A smooth-edged tool, such as a jade stone, is massaged into the skin with oil, using varying degrees of pressure. The goal is to stimulate circulation, break up stagnant energy, address chronic pain, reduce inflammation + promote healing. Gua sha massage targets the circulatory + musculoskeletal systems resulting in more blood flow, toxin removal, scar tissue breakdown + relief of muscle pain + tension.
cupping
Cupping is a type of alternative therapy often combined with acupuncture + massage. Cupping involves placing glass or silicone cups on your skin to create a suction + increase blood circulation to stimulate the natural healing process. Cupping also works to increase lymph flow, reduce inflammation, boost cellular immunity; relieve muscle tension + fascial restrictions; relieve pain + promote mobility.
moxibustion
Moxibustion is an ancient healing art of burning a dried herb called moxa to treat disorders such as infertility, digestive disorders + rheumatic pain. In Chinese Medicine, the goal is to expel cold + dampness from the body by warming up the meridians. Moxa may help to relieve back pain, menstrual cramping, pregnancy pain + respiratory disorders.
eastern nutrition
Eastern nutrition is the nourishment of the body through eating and digesting the foods that are best for your body based on the belief that the body can heal itself. In Traditional Chinese Medicine our meridians are our energetic structure uniting the body and consciousness. Meridians must be free of congestion that can be caused by improper diet, tension, stress, injury and invasions from our external environment. Keeping the meridians healthy benefits the organs allowing circulation of nourishment throughout the body.
